David’s practice is focused on intellectual property law, including strategic patent portfolio development, patent drafting, and prosecution in the chemical, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical arts and beyond. His practice also extends to due diligence, freedom-to-operate, patentability opinions, and regulatory filings. David has assisted with new drug applications and patent term extension efforts for multiple pharmaceutical products.
David has managed patent portfolios covering a broad range of topics, including small molecules, polymers, crystallography, solid-state forms, polymorphs, radiolabeled compounds (18F, 99Tc, 11C), SPECT imaging methods, diagnostics, analogs of schedule-I tropane alkaloids, gene therapy, and drug delivery.
He brings extensive in-house experience from small and mid-stage pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He advises clients on complex intellectual property matters and transactions with a deep understanding of how intellectual property impacts overall business risk, transactions, fundraising, and decision-making.
